Ready 2 React

CORRECTION: This event will be held on July 20th, 2013. An earlier version of this post gave an incorrect date.

re you and your family prepared for and ready to react to a hurricane, tsunami, or other natural disaster or emergency? Where should you go for information, what supplies should you have at your home, and how can you be of assistance to others in your community that may need help?

On Saturday, July 20th, your Aiea-Pearl City legislators and council members, with the cooperation and assistance of Federal, State, and City emergency management agencies are sponsoring Ready 2 React–an emergency preparedness exposition at Pearlridge Center from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.

This will be a terrific opportunity for you and your family to meet and chat with our community’s first responders and learn more about how you can prepare yourself, your family, and your community for any potential natural disaster or emergency. Just a few of the participating response agencies include:

  • Honolulu Department of Emergency Management
  • Federal Emergency Management Agency
  • Honolulu Police Department Department – Keiki ID Program
  • Civil Air Patrol
  • Pacific Tsunami Warning Center

This event will feature hands-on exhibits, educational information, an interactive talking/moving robot, ocean safety rescue apparatus, the HPD’s mobile command vehicle, a Civil Air Patrol glider, a Fire Department ladder truck, and much more.

Bring the whole family and enjoy the opportunity to learn how you and your community can be READY 2 REACT to any emergency or disaster that may strike Hawaii.
