A beautiful classic decked out for our 2014 Christmas parade!
Just a reminder — our annual Christmas parade and family fair is happening this Saturday, December 8th!
The parade will depart Pearlridge Elementary School at approximately 9am. Participants will march along Moanalua Road past Pearlridge before taking a left turn onto Kaamilo Street. They will then turn right onto Ulune Street past Aiea High School before ending at the old ‘Aiea Sugar Mill site next to ‘Aiea Public Library.
Please be aware that there may be increased traffic along the parade route between about 8:45am until about 10:30 am. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
The ‘Aiea Family Fun Fair will take place at the ‘Aiea Sugar Mill site from approximately 10am through 2pm. Come for entertainment, games, food, and bounce houses!

The annual ‘Aiea Community Christmas Parade and Fun Fair is a great event that celebrates the holiday season. We would like to extend an invitation to participate in the annual event in Aiea. This will be the 12th year for this holiday event. It will be held on Saturday December 8, 2018. The parade starts at 9am from Pearlridge Elementary School and ends at the Old Sugar Mill Site on Halewiliko Street, next to the ‘Aiea Public Library. The fun fair will follow at approximately 10am at the Old Sugar Mill site with games, entertainment, food, bouncers, and more.

The ‘Aiea Christmas Parade and Fun Fair is sponsored and funded by the ‘Aiea Community Association which is an IRS designated 501(c) 3 organization. Donations can be made to the ‘Aiea Community Association to help defray costs of the event.

Commander Navy Region Hawaii and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam are sponsoring a Makahiki event that is open to the public on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Rainbow Bay Marina “A” Frame at 57 Arizona Memorial Drive. The event is free and will feature a number of games and other cultural activities. Please RSVP by emailing kathy.isobe@navy.mil or by calling 473-0662.
The ‘Aiea Neighborhood Board will recess for the month of June. The board’s next meeting will be on July 9th at 7pm at the ‘Aiea Public Library.
The ‘Aiea Community Association will meet as usual on June 18, 2018 at 7:30pm at the ‘Aiea Public Library. Hope to see you there.
Councilmember Carol Fukunaga has submitted an amendment to the City Department of Planning and Permitting’s Transit Oriented Development (TOD) plan for Halawa, incorporating the ‘Aiea Sugar Mill property into the TOD zone.
The goal of this amendment is not to have more density, but to provide a buffer zone between the impending Aloha Stadium development and ‘Aiea’s residential areas. The amendment would also allow the sugar mill site to be included in any community benefit that transit oriented development will bring.
The ACA will continue to work with the Department of Planning and Permitting ont he Primary Urban Center plans/designations to ensure development consistent with the community’s needs and desires.

In partnership with the the U.S. Navy, Native Hawaiian civic clubs, and a number of local organizations, the ‘Aiea Community Association participated in a clean-up of the Loko Pa’aiau fishpond, one of the few intact fishponds remaining in the Pearl Harbor area on April 21, 2018. Thanks to the hardworking volunteers who came out, the fishpond is looking better than ever!

E Ala Pa’aiau Restoration was recognized with a Preservation Award at the Historic Hawai’i Foundation’s 2018 Preservation Honor Awards Ceremony!
The award was presented to the Ali’i Pauahi Hawaiian Civic Club, ‘Aiea Community Association, and Navy Facilities Engineering Command Hawai’i.
Kehaulani Lum and Bruce Keaulani represented the ‘Aiea Community Association at the ceremony, which took place on May 23rd at the YWCA Laniakea.

The Friends of ‘Aiea Library will be having a book sale tomorrow, Saturday, March 17, from 10am-3pm at the Aiea Public Library! Proceeds benefit the ‘Aiea Library!
Many items will be $1 or less — TONS of bargains!
As a reminder, our parade and fair are happening tomorrow! The parade will leave Pearl Ridge Elementary at 9am, will travel along Moanalua Road, up Kaamilo Street, take a right turn at Aiea High School (Ulune Street), and finish at the old ‘Aiea Sugar Mill.
Moanalua Road will remain open during the parade, though there will be lane closures. If you are driving along Kaamilo St. or Aiea Heights Dr. between about 9:30 and 10:15am, please be prepared for road closures due to the parade. All roads should be reopened by about 10:15am. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause!
The Christmas fun fair will take place at the Aiea Sugar Mill site after the parade, from roughly 10am to 2pm. The fair will feature entertainment, a couple of food trucks, games, and family-friendly booths. If you are planning on attending the fair at the Aiea Sugar Mill site, please park either on the street or at the ‘Aiea Korean Methodist Church. Unlike in years past, the City is not allowing us to park on the sugar mill field. Thank you for your understanding!
