Please see the following information from EAH Housing regarding the Aloha Ia Halewiliko project (the new senior housing development going up above ʻAiea Library). If you or a family member is interested in eventually renting an affordable unit within the project, the post includes a link where you can register your interest.

Aloha Iā Halewilikō is a new affordable housing community for kūpuna in ‘Aiea. Formerly Halewilikō Highlands, this property is the culmination of community-driven planning, transforming the former Aiea Sugar Mill site.

Located at 99-385 Pōhai Place in ‘Aiea, Aloha Iā Halewilikō consists of 140 apartment homes, complemented by onsite amenities and tailored services. A central multi-purpose room serves as a vibrant hub of community life, where activities are overseen by an EAH Housing Resource Service Coordinator.

In collaboration with Lanakila Pacific, a nonprofit services provider, we’re excited to offer a variety of kūpuna services, from promoting healthy living to providing digital literacy support, and meal distribution.

Aloha Iā Halewilikō’s completion is expected in 2025. You can sign up to the interest list at EAHHousing.org/aiea to receive information once the formal lease-up process begins.

On March 28, 2024, the Stadium Authority announced the two priority-listed offerors selected to proceed the Proposals Stage: Aloha Halawa District Partners and Waiola Development Partners. Blood drive at Pearlridge Center on Friday, April 12, 12-6pm

Blood Bank of Hawaii is coming to Pearlridge Center on Friday, April 12 from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm. The BLOODMOBILE will be located in the Mauka parking lot (near Genki Sushi) – in between Macy’s and TJ Maxx.

Governor Green Releases $7 Million For ʻAiea High School Field and Track

Senator Brandon Elefante announced on March 28 that Governor Josh Green released $7,000,000 in funding to finance the design and construction for a new football field and track at ʻAiea High School, including the replacement of the track and grass football field with a synthetic track and field.

Apologies for the late notice, but we were just notified moments ago that the developer of the Hale O Lipoa project, an affordable housing project that will exist certain existing housing units at 98-150 Lipoa Place, Aiea, Hawaii, will be holding an open house tonight. The information is as follows:

Date: Wednesday, April 3, 2024 (tonight)

Here is the action summary from the DEA:

The six existing 2-story Pepper Tree Apartments, with 58 units, will be replaced by an 8-story, 153-unit affordable rental housing project with 150 parking spaces on 2 levels, a community center, and exercise room. Designed for workforce housing, the affordability of the 18 studios, 51 1-bedroom, 72 2-bedroom, and 12 3-bedroom units, has not been finalized, but is intended to meet the C&C of Honolulu 201H HRS, affordable housing guidelines. At least 20% of the units will be for families earning less than 80% of the area median income (AMI), 31% for families earning less than 120% of AMI. The units will be affordable for at least 61 years. The BMX-3 parcel has a 90-ft. height limit and is in the Pearl Ridge Transit Oriented Development Area. The site is in the SMA pursuant to Chapter 25, ROH. Upon the acceptance of a Final EA and the issuance of a FONSI by DPP, the SMA application can be accepted for processing, with decision-making by the Honolulu City Council.
